This is the same recipe from the famous Neiman Marcus cookie recipe which costed the lady USD$250.
Made two versions from this cookie recipe, smaller ones (more crispy) and the bigger ones (below), which is more chewy and melts in your mouth. Obviously I made the crispy ones for my beloved hubby, who prefers the tradtional cookie.
This is another experiment from me. Obviously this doesn't look like the photo from the book coz I do not know what went wrong. The batter was too liquidy and the cookie became too thin and crispy, which M loves. But it's kind of nice to eat with a scoop of ice-cream or mid afternoon tea. I think i will make it again some time during this weekend :)
First attempt at making these light and refreshing cookie, substituted the blueberries with cranberries. Personally I think the almond taste is too strong, perhaps I should reduce the almond essence the next time round.
We had a such sumptuous lunch at Ah Yat Abalone in KL with Uncle John and family.I have to say, stir fry broccoli and old melon soup will never be the same to me again.
Menu for the day:
Old melon soup with shark fin ("Lo Wong Gua" in Cantonese)
Roasted suckling pig and later, stir fry meat with black sauce
Stir fry broccoli with lily bulb (I think,or either that, it was squid) and VERY fresh shrimp
Abalone and sea cucumber with superior broth
Fried noodles (something like "Sau" mien, I think)
Hot dessert - Chng Tng
If I'm not wrong, there should be a couple more dishes but I can't remember them now. (this should be a reminder to myself not to procrastinate and should blog it IMMEDIATELY since I got such bad memory)
All in all, it was only (around) RM90 per pax. Very cheap and worth the drive up to KL.
